Vivozoom is seeking professional and semi-professional photographers and illustrators to submit their premium images. You need to have all rights to the images as the image author and have model or property releases as appropriate.

Unlike many businesses, we offer a bi-lateral contract. This means that we cannot change it without your agreement. We also pay our contributors 40% of our receipts. By way of illustration: If a customer pays $300 for a monthly subscription and downloads 100 images, each image generates $3.00 and the photographer will earn a royalty of $1.20 per image (or 40%). However, if that same customer downloads only 10 images then the royalty becomes $12.00 per image.

There is a basic requirement for most users of images to have the security that they will not be prosecuted for infringing image rights when they publish an image. This requirement is particularly important for corporates. We are confident that with this guarantee will generate many, many more customers for your images, and that they will be prepared to pay premium sums for this privilege.

Like the majority of other micro sites, we are requiring you, our contributors, to warrant to us that you own the rights to your images (including submitting necessary releases). If there is a claim against us alleging breach of these rights against us, we will, with your help, defend it. If it transpires you do not own the image rights then you will have to settle the claim (your liability does not reduce because we have accepted your images).

Your ID could have been rejected for any of the following reasons: Not a valid form of ID; ID did not upload properly; User already has an active account with us; User has a disabled account with us; ID is already pending with another account; Name or ID is not legible; Name is not in English; Name on ID does not match name on file; Country on ID does not match country on file. When a customer buys a Pay As You Go subscription, we credit our contributors Royalties at 40% on the assumption that the customer will use his / her full quota of downloads. If at the end of the PAYG subscription (usually after 12 months) there are unused downloads , we apply the remaining 40% Royalty to the contributors whose images were downloaded. For example:

1. Customer buys a 2 print res PAYG subscription for $15.00 on 1st Jan 2011 ($7.50 each download)
2. Customer downloads 1 image, nd the contributor is credited a Royalty of $3.00 (40% of $7.50)
3. Subscription expires on 31 Dec 2011. We credit the contributor (in 2) with the unused Dividend of 3.00.

We have negotiated some arrangements which fall outside of the normal web site arrangements , and this represents the Royalty arising to our contributors. For example:

Greeting Cards: Instead of licensing your images under an Enhanced License, we have entered into an arrangement with a card producer whereby they pay us when our contributors' images are used. In these cases we are paying our contributors the exact same rate which the card producer pays its own contributors , with the card producer separately paying our fees .

It works as follows: The card producer gets (say) $10.00 for one greeting card using a vivozoom image. They pay all their contributors 20% - hence $2.00 is sent to us, and we pass 100% of that to our contributor. In addition the card producer pays us $0.50.

You must accumulate at least $50 to be paid by Paypal, or $100 to be paid by wire transfer within the USA and $200 by wire transfer outside of the USA.

There is an administrative cost for making payments, and in cases where payment is outside of the USA there are also bank charges. It is therefore sensible to have some minimum amount before we start sending payments.

Yes. Certain high fraud areas of the world may require prior approval before an account is created. If your country isn't listed on the signup form, please contact support and submit your portfolio. We may also require references. As long as your pictures are 100% yours, you can join. Cash transfers will only be made in US dollars.

We, like all US businesses, are under an obligation to withhold taxes when making payments overseas. The W8-BEN will, if you reside in a country with a tax treaty with the USA, allow us to pay without such a withholding.

At the end of each subscription (or at the end of each month of a 3,6 or 12 month subscription) the royalty will be calculated and allocated on an image by image basis. A payment is made once you have achieved the minimum payment threshold and payment is made by 15th of the following month.

Monthly, payments are sent out for the previous month's payouts. For example: On the 15th of March, payments will be sent for subscriptions closing in February. If you haven't reached the minimum payout during any period, your earnings will be brought forward to the next pay period.

We have 3 different methods for submitting images. FTP Upload, Java FTP Upload, and HTML Upload. As soon as you register, you can start uploading images either by FTP or by a web form. There's no delay in getting an FTP account. Instructions are provided for each method at signup.

We accept photographic images in JPEG format only, however, illustrations can be submitted as vectors or JPEG format. If you submit a Vector, we'll generate a hi-res JPEG automatically for those clients who want a rasterized version instead of a Vector.

Photos and JPEG illustrations must be at least 4MP (4 Million Pixels). To determine the amount of pixels in a photo, multiply the width by the length. For example: a photo which is 2,400 x 1,800 is 4.32 million pixels - a photo of this size is valid. Photos and illustrations must meet further minimum requirements laid out in our Submission Guidelines.

Vectors need to be uploaded in Adobe Illustrator 8 (AI8) format with a .eps extension and must be less than 5MB (Five Megabytes). If you have JPEG previews of the vectors that contain imbedded IPTC data, then upload those to the same Vector folder with the same filename as the Vector. We'll extract keywords and captions from the preview. If you do not have a preview and want to use our keywording interface, then we will produce a JPG preview automatically. The choice is yours.

We do not accept X-Rated or distastful images, but we may accept tasteful nudes. All nudes must be accompanied by both a model release AND a valid ID stating that the model is 21 years of age or older.

You will not know where or how your images are used - but buyers must agree to our terms of service allowing only certain uses of the photographs. This includes web, print, pamphlets, posters, etc. Also buyers have certain restrictions on use including for example using them in a pornographic, defamatory, libelous or otherwise illegal manner.

We only pay affiliate income on introductions to customers (not for introducing other contributors). All our registered users are automatically assigned a contributor number and link which you need to use to generate income. Please refer to the Affiliate terms to the see how this works.
